“I’ve taken on Tri-Adventure to carry on enjoying what I do and to grow the sport that gave me a sense of Adventure.  I want to introduce it to others and use my experience from the racing I’ve done to create some great and impressive Adventure Events in the future. I feel passionate about creating a community of Adventurers who enjoy coming to Tri-Adventure Events.  We welcome beginners to the sport and give them the support and training they need through our Academy, to ensure they get the bug and come back time and time again.  I see myself as a mentor to our community and will personally be on hand to offer advice and support whenever needed. My dream is for Tri-Adventure to be irresistible, inspirational and admired for being top in class for its expertise and event delivery.”

Whether you’re male or female, experienced or a beginner, our events cater for everyone, so come and try our adventure!

Adam

Summary:

Born in 1981 and growing up near London, Adam seemed destined for adventure.  Excelling at school in many different outdoor pursuits, Adam continued onto Newcastle University where he graduated in 2003 with a BEng Marine Engineering with Honours in Small Craft Technology.  From university, he went on to complete an Intensive Training Programme and qualified in Outdoor Instructing (including MIA, Winter ML and SPA).  In addition to this, Adam is Quadcopter qualified with CAA permission for aerial work.

Adam’s expedition and racing career has seen him travel the world. Just to name a few countries, Adam has competed in the North Pole, Argentina, Africa, Nepal, Slovenia, UAE, Oman, Kuwait and Canada.  To date, Adam has completed 20 marathons (3h2s), 25 half marathons (80m9s), International long distance and Iron-distance Triathlons (9h43m) and too many Adventure Races to list.   During his career, Adam has climbed Mt Kilimanjaro five times, Aconcagua twice, Mont Blanc and he has been to Everest Base Camp, Island Peak and Mera Peak several times.

Adam has many achievements; most recently, he finished 82nd in the Marathon Des Sables – 6 marathons run over 6 days across the Sahara Desert.  He was also 6th Solo in the 2011 Open Adventure Coast to Coast Adventure Race, and he was in the 1st British team to finish at the 2008 Portuguese 100h Expedition Adventure Race.  Adam’s next challenge is to finish a marathon in under three hours; recently, he achieved 3h 01m 07s, so the goal is within reach.

During his adventures, Adam has become qualified in many sporting disciplines including: Climbing, Orienteering, Kayaking, Powerboat, Quadcopter, Winter Skills, GPS, Canoeing and Mountain Biking, to name a few.  During his work, Adam has trained the Military in the UAE, been an Operations Manager for a top Triathlon race organiser, and he also worked as an Expedition Leader for Adventure Peaks.

Adam’s wealth of sporting experience and knowledge will now be passionately invested into his new company Tri-Adventure.  Tri-Adventure organise and run Adventure Races for athletes ranging from beginners to experienced multi sport enthusiasts.  Taking over the company earlier this year, Adam plans to build on the solid Adventure Racing foundations he already found at Tri-Adventure, and he also plans to inject some new adventures into the race portfolio, so watch this space!  Adam says:
