A Statement from Adam following these uncertain times,

No-one can be sure where these uncertain times are heading, but as you can imagine, it is having a huge impact on the events industry. Especially at a time when it is good for us to get outside in the fresh air and do exercise to benefit our own mental and physical health. 

So, with Mickleham scheduled for Sunday 5th April and numbers currently very low, I am thinking of trying something different – a no-frills outside rolling start approach to this event with a start window of 08:30-13:00 for 2 hour events and 08:30-10:30 for the 4 hour event. There will be access to the car park where we will also have HQ, and the Village Hall will only be available for the toilets. The process will be simple to minimise contact and the gathering of people. Turn up, receive a cleaned dibber and map from a desk in the car park and then you can start when you are ready from an isolated start box. I am thinking of offering both 2 and 4-hour events, and not the mini-trail events (as these use the clippers). So, there will be racking on the grass section for your bikes. Afterwards, you will finish and immediately download in the car park before heading home. There will be no prizes, and no tea or cakes, so you will need to bring your own nibbles and a bottle of water. The results from the day will be available on the website. I have to add that if you feel at all unwell in the lead up to this event, then it is not for you and the advice is to stay away!

I fully appreciate that we are all feeling the pinch with our expenditure during these uncertain times. So, I propose a flat £20 fee in advance for each participant in this event, and £25 on the day via contactless payment. I would also like to reassure you that if the situation changes and we find that this event can’t go ahead, then I will fully 100% refund your entry fee. So, no risk to you.

  • Flat £20 fee per person in advance for any event
  • £25 per person on the day contactless payment
  • Start when you like 08:30-13:00 (2 hour events)
  • Start when you like 08:30-10:30 (4 hour event)
  • Dibber and map collected outside in the car park

  • Run and/or Mountain Bike events
  • 2 or 4-hour event same price
  • Download will be immediately after finishing in the car park.
  • Bike Racking will be set up in the car park

Mickleham Village Hall from the car park

Location: Mickleham Village Hall, Dell Close, Mickleham, Dorking,Surrey, RH5 6EE

Arriving by train: Box Hill & Westhumble Station is the closest with a 1.5 mile walk.

Bike Hire: Bikes can be hired in advanced and delivered by out Bike Partner B1KE.  The cost of this service is £35 per event and includes a helmet and drinks bottle.  More details about the hire can be found here.  To hire a bike, please send us an Email at least 4 days before the event.

Pricing Structure for this event only

Long Event £40, NOW £20, £25 OTD – 4 hours, navigate to as many checkpoints as possible within the time.  Starting on foot from 08:30-10:30, there will be one transition allowed.

Short Event£25, NOW £20, £25 OTD – 2 hours, navigate to as many checkpoints as possible within the time.  Starting on foot from 08:30-13:00, there will be one transition to Mountain Bikes.

Trail Adventure Event£25, NOW £20, £25 OTD – 2 hour Trail Run only, navigate to as many checkpoints as possible within the time. Starts from 08:30-13:00.

Mini Trail Adventure Event – £14, £18 OTD – 1 hour Trail Run only, navigate to as many checkpoints as possible within the time.

MTBO Adventure Event£25, NOW £20, £25 OTD – 2 hours, ride your mountain bike and navigate to as many checkpoints as possible within the time. Starts from 08:30-13:00.

The event

  • Visit the registration desk to collect your race pack and SPORTident dibber.
  • Ensure you allow enough time to register.
  • Have a read through event rules here.
  • Mass Start on foot, with just one transition allowed on to the mountain bike.
  • Using your map to navigate to as many checkpoints and cover as much distance as you can within the time limit.
  • Please note that, on some courses there could potentially be mandatory checkpoints, these will be advised at registration.
  • There will be a number of checkpoints to collect in any order set over a course.
  • For Experience and Sprint events, competitors must collect a minimum of one run and one bike checkpoint to qualify.
  • Checkpoint values will each be worth 10 points.
  • Competitors will incur a penalty of 1 point per 30 seconds they are late back.

After the event, download your dibber at the registration desk, collect your statistics and check the instant results service while enjoying a cup of tea/coffee and a biscuit.

There will be the Tri-Adventure shop on the day selling merchandise and a few other essential items.  Cash only.
